The EYFS, with play-based learning and Montessori-inspired elements that build independence, language and early maths.

Daily routines mirror Reception (circle time, small groups, self-care). We focus on phonics awareness, early writing, maths through play, turn-taking and independence. We liaise with local schools for smooth transitions.

We plan transitions gently and in partnership with you. Before your start date, we offer a tour and a 3 – days – settling plan, each an hour, with short visits that build from you staying together to independent time. Your child is introduced to their Key Person, who keeps routines consistent (snack, sleep, play) and learns your child’s cues, comforters, and favourites. You’ll receive regular updates via our parent app and a face-to-face handover so you know how they’re getting on.

For moves between rooms, we use step-up visits, where your child is able to visit the next room, giving them a chance to get acquainted in little steps. For school, we’ll agree a personalised transition plan with you and any professionals involved. Our aim is a predictable, nurturing process that builds trust and confidence at each step.

We track each child’s learning through the EYFS using brief, in-the-moment observations that capture what they enjoy and can do, without interrupting play. These are added to a secure digital journal (photos, notes and milestones) that you can view and comment on. Our practitioners use this evidence to set simple individual next steps and plan weekly enhancements in the room. You’ll receive an on-entry baseline, ongoing updates, a 2-year progress check (where applicable) and a termly summary, all discussed with you. Records are moderated for consistency and stored in line with data protection.
